First of all I'd like to thank everyone that still watches, has watched or has been involved in this group in some shape or form.
Alas I had to leave deviantART last July because of some horrible personal issues regarding family etc. But thankfully it seems to have blown over and gone quiet and as I missed this place so much I have returned for what I hope is a very long time.
DistinctLiterature was born because of the desire to acknowledge the talent of writers of all ages, something that I believe is key to the Literature community here on deviantART. And in the process of doing so, raising money for various Literature based charities.
I'd like to rekindle the ashes of this group and bring it back. So much effort was put into this group that it would be a horrendous shame if it were to all go to waste.
So I'm putting this journal out to alert the watchers/members etc that I will steadily be renovating and kick starting the engine of this place and getting things back into motion, I hope you will all be behind me in this.

Submissions are flowing in but it's been quiet recently, so this is a call to all 140 so watchers and 30 so members, if you haven't submitted a piece yet then please consider it! This is your opportunity to have a piece of your work considered for publication in a soft cover physical book!
As a result the more submissions the better, so we are going to extend the deadline date to the 1st of August! So get submitting and encourage anybody you know that may be interested then send them this way!

WANTED: New Avatars!
Since upgrading the Distinct accounts to official Groups, we've decided it makes sense to upgrade our avatars too, from the basic, pixel attempts at current (which were only ever a stand-in, really), to more polished, double-width avatars which give a better first impression of us.
So, since our expertise lie in other areas, we'd like to appeal to the charity of our watchers – if anyone out there is of a mind to help out, we'd love to see your ideas for new avatars.

A quick journal to say that membership is now open for DistinctLiterature (https://www.deviantart.com/distinctliterature), there is only one requirement.
Obviously as this is a publication group the requirement is that you must have submitted a piece before. Or if you would like to be a member then please submit a piece and then you may.
We have a list of those who have submitted pieces so please don't apply unless you have submitted a piece otherwise you will be declined.
